HDPE Flap Valves for Flood Prevention & Drainage
Fernco HDPE Flap Valves offer a simple and reliable way to help stop water flowing back through drainage and sewer systems.
Installed at the end of a pipe, culvert or outfall, the valve allows water to flow out normally. If the water level outside rises, the flap automatically closes to help prevent water travelling back up the system. This makes them ideal for flood protection, surface water drainage, sewer systems and tidal applications.
Strong, Lightweight & Built to Last
Fernco Flap Valves are manufactured from high-strength HMWPE (PE500), giving them excellent durability without the weight of traditional cast iron valves.
Because HDPE doesn't rust or corrode, it's particularly well suited to wet and demanding environments, including tidal areas, outfalls and locations where the valve may regularly be submerged.
The lightweight flap also opens with relatively little water pressure, allowing water to discharge efficiently while helping reduce standing water behind the valve.
Reliable Backflow Protection
A good flap valve needs to do one thing well – let water out while helping stop it coming back.
Fernco HDPE Flap Valves are designed to do exactly that. Their sealing system works across both low and high pressures, while an integrated EPDM sponge seal helps create a watertight connection between the valve and mounting surface.
With wall-mounted, spigot, tidal and flange-mounted options available, there's a solution for a wide variety of drainage and water management projects.
